Here's a tip: When parking at a large venue, stand next to your car and snap a picture of something -- say, said venue. That way, when it's dark and/or you've had one too many beers, you can orient yourself by consulting the image and trying to match up the view. And if it doesn't help, you'll still have a pretty picture.
