"Because Colorado's taking out their pitcher, and we like him. We don't want to see him go. But, you know, if he'd given up ten runs in two innings or something, we wouldn't be rubbing it in like this. Baseball is polite like that."
Home runs are nice, but a walk and a couple of singles can do the job, too. The Dodgers would put another run on the board before the pitcher was pulled. Then my fake baby boyfriend fouled out and pitcher Brad Penny -- who had doubled in his catcher in his previous at bat, while we were in the world's slowest concession line -- lined out. Dodgers 5, Rockies 1, us fed.
